About Me

“…allow each passing incident to summon you to intercession – the church bell, the flight of a swallow,
the rising of the sun, the falling of a leaf.” D. MacIntyre

Hello! And thank you for reading my blog.

My name is Jan Perley. I am a published poet, learning aids designer and publisher, and award-winning wildlife artist with a lifelong interest in wildlife and zoology.

While quite young, I began reading books and photographic journals about animals and wildlife. I studied photographs of them and, being artistic, I noticed the differences between animals in the same family or species.  I admire the distinctive beauty of each animal and have sold artistic renderings of such creatures as warthogs and aardwolves. I want to awaken an interest in kids and adults to the glory of the different species, and I Spy Animals gives me an outlet!

For my views on why I am blogging about species identification, read my first blog So who cares about edible dormice anyway?

You can see my artwork here at Fine Art America,

and you can contact me directly at issacharpress@gmail.com.
